In recent years, Global Positioning System (GPS) is employed in not only the navigation systems for a car and a ship, but also in measurement equipment, watches, mobile phones, and so on. However, only GPS can not be utilized as measurement equipment for the private airplanes or Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) because of the absence of its processing capability.
This thesis proposes a signal acquisition method which is suitable for the GNSS receiver with multipurpose channels. First, the search time for a satellite is reduced by searching the satellite with multiple channels. Next, in order to reduce Time of Signal Acquisition (TSA), the allocation order of the GNSS satellites to the multipurpose channels is determined by computer simulation.
