Scalable Control Scheme for End-to-End Delay Stabilization and
Packet Loss Improvement in Broadband IP Network
Dai Yamamoto

Recently, various real-time applications have been used widely with the development of information infrastructure. To use these applications with high quality condition, there is need for establishment of QoS guarantee mechanism. We have proposed and implemented the output buffer control mechanism (QoSC : QoS Controller) in IP router to guarantee QoS by managing flow conditions. This mechanism can provide the fixed bandwidth per flow by cooperating with the scheduling and discarding discipline. Also, we have proposed End-to-End QoS Stabilization Scheme by guaranteeing the QoS in the routers equipped with QoSC maximally even if some intermediate routers are not equipped with QoSC.

In this paper, we perform the implemental design of our scheme

The performance of our proposal was evaluated by computer simulation and numerical analysis. As a result, it was confirmed that our proposal could reduce the number of RSVP messages and the processing overhead in QoSC. Also, End-to-End QoS including the response to the change of network condition was improved.
